Important Safety Information you need to know about Emergency contraceptives.

  • Levonorgestrel, the active ingredient in Plan B One-Step, My Way, Next Choice One Dose, Opcicon® One-Step, is intended to prevent pregnancy after possible or confirmed contraceptive failure or unprotected sexual intercourse.
  • Levonorgestrel will not work if you are already pregnant and will not end an existing pregnancy.
  • Levonorgestrel does not protect against HIV or any other sexually transmitted diseases or infections.
  • Side effects may include nausea or vomiting, lower abdominal pain, breast pain, tiredness, headache, dizziness, and changes in your menstrual period.
  • You may be pregnant if your period is more than a week late.
  • Do not take Levonorgestrel if you are already pregnant.
  • Do not take if you are allergic to Levonorgestrel.
  • Levonorgestrel is not recommended as routine birth control.
  • If you experience severe abdominal pain, you many have an ectopic pregnancy and should get immediate medical attention.
